Your Story
Bone sarcoma survivors and caregivers are invited to share their stories for this website. Below you will find submission guidelines for survivor stories, caregiver stories and memorials.
Guidelines for Survivor Stories – at least six months past initial treatment:
1. Please copy the following information into an e-mail message and then add your answers to it.

Age at diagnosis:
Location (State/Country – optional):
Surgeon (optional):
Oncologist (optional):
2. Next, write your story in the text of the e-mail. Consider including the events that led up to your diagnosis, your treatment, what your initial recovery period was like, and what life is like now. At the end of your story, consider adding a paragraph or two that provides thoughts and hints for new patients.
3. Send your story to info@abc-survivors.net . Please do not include any attachments – only the text of an e-mail! After your story has been received, you will be asked to submit a picture or two. One picture should be a head shot that will appear at the top of your story, and another can be a family photo or a picture of an x-ray if you’d like to include it.
Guidelines for Caregiver’s Stories:
1. Please copy the following information into an e-mail message and then add your answers to it.

Who in your life was diagnosed (spouse, sibling, etc)?
Type of sarcoma and its location:

Age at diagnosis:
2. Next, write your story in the text of the e-mail. Consider including the events that led up to your loved-one’s diagnosis, what the treatment experience was like for you, what the recovery period was like for you, and what your life is like now. At the end of your story, consider adding a paragraph or two that provides thoughts and hints for the caregivers of new patients.
3. Send your story to info@abc-survivors.net . Please do not include any attachments – only the text of an e-mail! After your story has been received, you will be invited to submit a picture or two. One picture should be a head shot that will appear at the top of your story, and another can be a family photo. You must not submit a picture of the patient without the patient’s permission!
Guidelines for Memorials:
Writing a memorial can be a helpful way to express loss and to honor a loved-one’s memory. Memorials can be written in whatever way you choose. Feel free to write about your experience, the experience of your loved-one, or both. You might want to consider sharing information that could be helpful for others who are losing a loved-one to sarcoma.
Please send your entry in a text-only e-mail (no attachments) to info@abc-survivors.net. After your entry is reviewed, you will be invited to send a photo or two as well.
Privacy Issues:
These stories may be found in search engines. This is why we only publish first names in the stories of living patients and survivors. Feel free to use a false name if you are concerned about your health information being found on the internet. You may also retract your story or photo at any time by contacting info@abc-survivors.net.
